The Smartstart 48 Watt model makes use of two 24w germicidal Smarstart lamps. This unit is suitable for ponds up to 3,000 gallons (13500 litres) based on full sun exposure. It can be easily upgraded at a later date to a 72 watt version, simply by changing the lamps for a larger size (36w).

This UV8 Watt Pond Clear Advantage works by halting the reproduction of algae. The ultraviolet radiation at a wavelength of 254 nanometers is extremely effective in doing so. At the heart of this UV8 is an ultraviolet lamp sealed inside a quartz sleeve. As water is pumped through the unit, ultraviolet light from the lamp destroys the green, single celled water borne algae (which makes garden ponds murky and unattractive), this UV8 will leave the water crystal clear. The pro pond unit is supplied with no fittings to take flexible pipe, the TMC push-fit converstion kit is required if using 40mm flexible pipe and not the standard solvent weld pipe.
